Catena Media files its first ESG progress report with the United Nations Global Compact

Catena Media plc filed its first “Communication on Progress” since joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) program as a participant in January 2022. The progress report outlines the company’s commitment to the UNGC’s Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and reflects Catena Media the increased focus on sustainability and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) in recent years.

The UNGC forms the core of Catena Media sustainability framework alongside UN Sustainable Development Goals. The group’s code of conduct has for several years applied the ten principles of the UNGC.

Sustainable development reporting is part of Catena Media annual reports since 2018, when the company first defined a sustainability strategy. In 2021, the group took a step forward and began reporting for the first time on a broader set of practical ESG actions and measures related to sustainability. A solid strategic framework has been established that incorporates the UNGC, selected UN Sustainable Development Goals and other relevant sustainability frameworks deeper in the organization.

A Sustainability Councilcreated in 2021 and composed of management and board representatives, drives the implementation of the sustainability strategy across the group.

This first “Communication on progress” can be found in the “Sustainable development” section of the group’s 2021 annual report.

More information about the UNGC can be found on the UN Global Compact website.
