RangeAnt launches compact antennas from 700 MHz to 3000 MHz

RangeAnt, specialists in broadband antennas for in-vehicle applications, announces the MAX family of compact antennas from 700 MHz to 3000 MHz. MAX antennas are designed primarily for cellular, IoT and GNSS applications. They feature 80-90% free space efficiency and less than 2:1 VSWR across all bands of operation.

The efficiency of the antennas provides greater range for the available transmit power and improved receive performance. Alternatively, when reducing power consumption is a priority, such as in IoT applications, lower transmit power can be used for a given link range. MAX antennas are suitable for use with Bluetooth, Zigbee, Sub-GHz, LPWAN (LoRa, Sigfox, Weightless), Wi-Fi and Cellular (2G, 3G, 4G/LTE and NB-IoT) and GPS/ GNSS HOME. They allow wireless module manufacturers and OEMs to create products for global markets while minimizing design effort and inventory by using only one type of antenna. Optimum performance is achieved without the use of a separate ground plane, allowing design freedom for mechanical and electrical engineers. The antenna can be integrated into a product regardless of a ground plane and without compromising wireless reliability or signal quality. RangeAnt MAX antennas feature a patent pending double sided board design where the conductor patterns are different on each side of the board. Omnidirectional antennas operate as a monopole up to 1600 MHz and a dipole above that frequency. They are designed for a 50 ohm match in free space, but when integrated into a wireless module or system, maintaining optimum efficiency can sometimes require additional matching components. The antenna board includes pads for installation of corresponding surface mount components, if required.
